Product Description
The FEBI BILSTEIN Blower Motor (18780) is a critical component of the vehicle's HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) system. Its primary function is to draw air from the cabin or outside and force it through the pollen filter, heater core, and evaporator, delivering it into the vehicle's interior. Over time, the internal brushes of the electric motor wear down, or the bearings seize due to accumulated dust and lack of lubrication, leading to symptoms like squealing noises, inconsistent airflow, or complete failure of the heating/cooling system.

| VW Caddy | Mk1 | 1979 - 1992 |
⚠️ Installation & Diagnostic Note:
- Diagnostic Tip: If your blower motor only works on the highest speed setting, the issue is likely the Blower Motor Resistor, not the motor itself. If the motor does not work on any speed, test for 12V power at the connector before replacing the motor.
- Access: On the VW A1/A2 platforms, the blower motor is typically accessed from the engine bay side, underneath the plastic rain tray/cowl cover at the base of the windscreen.
- Cleaning: While you have the cowl removed, take a moment to clear out all the leaves and debris that accumulate in that area. This debris is the number one cause of water ingress and premature motor failure in these older models.
- Balance: Be very careful when handling the new fan cage. Even a small chip in one of the blades can cause the motor to vibrate violently at high speeds, which will lead to premature failure of the new bearings.
