The SACHS Screw Set, flywheel (3096 005 000) is an original-equipment-quality drivetrain fastener kit manufactured by SACHS. This kit secures either the single-mass or dual-mass flywheel directly to the engine's crankshaft rear flange. Because flywheel bolts are subjected to intense rotational shear stress, cyclic loading, and engine harmonics, they are engineered as "stretch bolts" (torque-to-yield fasteners). They must be replaced every time they are loosened to ensure proper torque retention and prevent catastrophic separation of the flywheel from the crankshaft.
