The QUINTON HAZELL Contact Breaker, distributor (XCS114) is an original-equipment specification mechanical ignition service component manufactured by Quinton Hazell. This contact breaker set (commonly referred to as ignition points) features integrated ventilation slots engineered to limit local thermal build-up and reduce electrical contact pitting or arc degradation during normal operation. Its primary design function is to serve as the high-speed timing switch within the low-voltage primary circuit of the mechanical ignition distributor, inducing the sudden magnetic collapse inside the ignition coil required to generate high-voltage spark currents for the cylinder spark plugs.
